GRASFI Member Universities to officially support the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) on sustainable finance research.
At the NGFS Plenary held at the Banque de France in April 2019 GRASFI became one of two groups that are official NGFS Research Stakeholders.
NGFS Research Stakeholders are research networks and centres of particular interest to the NGFS that:
will to work on the research questions identified by the NGFS;
are able to provide a relevant academic contribution to the NGFS;
are of regional or global nature.
Dr Ben Caldecott, Co-Chair of GRASFI and Director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Programme at the University of Oxford said, “GRASFI and its Member Universities are looking forward to working with the central banks and supervisors of the NGFS to ensure that the latest academic research can help them to fulfil their mission. The NGFS currently brings together 36 central banks and supervisors - representing five continents, half of global greenhouse gas emissions and the supervision of two thirds of the global systemically important banks and insurers. GRASFI currently brings together 22 global research universities to promote multi-disciplinary academic research on sustainable finance and investment."
